History
From water engineering to general planning
It was the reclaiming of the moorlands in the Emsland district which in the early years formed the backbone of the work of the engineering consultancy for water and land improvement, founded by Dipl.-Ing. Werner Rücken in 1960. Today, some fifty years later, the Rücken & Partners engineering centre serves the entire spectrum of planning in construction. From civil engineering to building construction, from site remediation to the energy-intelligent design of industrial plants and infrastructure projects, from individual services to general planning.
1960
Dipl.-Ing. Werner Rücken founded in Meppen an engineering consultancy for water and land improvement.
1991
Dipl.-Kaufmann Michael Rücken becomes managing partner in his father's business, which by then was also successful in structural engineering and road construction.
2000
The company founder dies at the age of 68. Michael Rücken takes over the company together with Dipl.-Ing. Wilfried Schwarte.
2005
The company is expanded by two divisions: Building construction and industrial buildings headed by Dipl.-Ing. Ansgar Winkeler and earthworks, foundation engineering and soil laboratory, led by Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Bednarzick.
2007
Michael Rücken founded with the recognized expert Dr. Karl-Heinz Lüpkes the Rücken & Lüpkes Sachverständige und Ingenieure GmbH, dealing with contaminated sites, land recycling, soil management, environmental technology and energy systems.
2009
Besides the technical engineering services Rücken & Partner with a new consulting division now offers project development, technical and commercial project management, due diligence and controlling.
2010
Emsländische Stiftung Beruf und Familie (Emsland Foundation for Work-Life Balance) certifies Rücken & Partner as a family-friendly company.
2011
Rücken & Partner extends its range of services and now offers its customers building services planning by Rücken & Partner Schleevoigt Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH.
